Tim Marks is a Co-Founder of
LIFE and author of Voyage of a Viking, released in 2012. As
a business leader, Christian, husband and father, Tim speaks on business stages
across North America every year to tens of thousands of people. He is a recognized
expert in building successful leadership communities, and Tim’s success philosophy
includes a strong focus on developing a results-driven business culture. He has
been described as living on "results food, not activity food." He champions self-
improvement by setting his own strong example of personal growth; Tim has been credited
by Orrin Woodward as being the fastest leader on the Team at going from "problem
identified to problem solved" in matters of personal and professional development.
Tim Marks is a consummate over-comer. Dyslexic and facing major challenges in his
schooling, Tim fought back against his personal limitations and is a voracious reader
today, personally overseeing a Christian book-of-the-month program for leaders across
North America.
One of Tim’s greatest mantras is to "Know why you believe what you believe." This
is Tim’s gentle way of encouraging people to challenge their own beliefs about faith
and seek the truth about why we are here and what our greater purpose in life can
be.
Background: Tim Marks’ story is one of overcoming personal setbacks
to eventually achieve tremendous success. Tim struggled greatly in school, eventually
being diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia, but not before watching his grades dissolve
to D’s and E’s and giving up entirely on academics by 6th Grade. Convinced he was
behind the other students, he struggled on and off through junior high and high
school. He became a welder after he finished high school, but always had dreams
of greater success. While working his way through night school to become an electrical
engineer at work, Tim’s dreams of financial freedom inspired him to start his own
real-estate business.
Publications:Voyage of a Viking: How a Man of Action Can Become
a Man of Grace. In this inspirational work, Tim combines leadership wisdom
with personal anecdotes to bring his message to life. Tim describes how he had earned
the nickname "The Viking" from his colleagues to describe his rough and hurtful
behavior of his past, only to begin a journey towards healing. Tim shares the story
how through prayer, mentorship and hard work, he has sanded down the many rough
edges of his personality so that he could eventually become a man that would lead
and inspire tens of thousands of people.
Professional Achievements: Policy Council Board Member at Team,
a leadership development company; Co-Founder of LIFE and author of his leadership blog.
"Work" Experience: Welder, electrician, maintenance supervisor,
and at the time of Tim’s retirement at 31, he was finishing his degree in Electrical
Engineering. Tim was being fast-tracked on a Leadership Development Plan to become
the head of engineering for a major automotive supplier; he would have overseen
maintenance, robotics, tooling and facilities.
Family: Tim is a devoted family man to his wife Amy and their four
children.
Charitable Focus: On top of financially supporting various charities,
Tim has donated his personal time and energy to giving back to the less fortunate,
having visited the favelas of Brazil and the earthquake-affected country of Haiti
in 2010. Tim also serves as a Board Member with All Grace Outreach.
Hobbies and Interests: Tim passionately enjoys fishing, spearheading
the tongue-in-cheek "People Protecting the Tarpon Population" organization, and
playing football with his boys.

France, England, Wales, Ireland, Spain, British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Brazil
